The Marathon

Go beyond what others think you can
For you are more than what others think you are
It’s a matter of fulfilling what you truly want
Not of satisfying the expectations of higher men

Try not to meet the standards set by others
Instead, go higher and seek for other open doors
For you have your own destiny to fulfill,
To realize your dreams and follow thy will

Do not let strangers corrupt your mind with criticisms
Hear, but listen only to the sensible ones
If you keep listening to everything they say,
You’ll never gonna find your own way

Some will try to pull you down
While others will stand in competition
But remember only one thing:
You are your own competitor and your worst critic

Know your strengths and weaknesses
As well as your failures and triumphs
For success arises from your downfall
While your defeats will push you to fight and win it all

When the day comes that you feel the pressure on your shoulders
And at the soles of your feet
Never look back
Rest, but never stop!

Life is a constant marathon that you have to face
Run, turn around or change pace
Keep on going, keep on pushing and keep on flying
Just never ever take a dive

Because only the one who fights
And only the one who believes
Will reach the end of the long marathon
And He, the winner shall take it all
