Tragic love story
This is a tragedy love story. I don't mean to preach too loudly. These are meant to be the sentiments of the characters. Do you agree with them?

I tried to parallel the lecture by Osgood Stanch with the actual events of Perdita's life. The gardenias play a part, also. The narrative of Perdita's life, told by Hortencia, was written as though spoken by a non-native speaker of English, with its sprinkling of Spanish words.

The protagonist's name is pronounced: PAIR-dee-tah, with the accent on the first syllable. It is related to the English word "perdition." Can you guess what it means?
