A man hopes for the best as his world crumbles.
After the car accident, after losing both arms at the elbows, Louie the Razor was somehow still the same man. He no longer wrestled of course. He no longer made millions from promotions, but he remained upbeat and positive. He was still hopeful. He still had many, many fans who adored him.

Five months home from the hospital, he now waited for the call from ESPN. He had high hopes of doing color commentary. He sat on the couch admiring the workmanship of a guitar on his lap. He seemed relaxed. He took a long sip from the straw floating inside a snifter of brandy.

“Maybe you should go a little easy,” Peter said.

“You're right, Pete. I need to stay sharp. They'll call today. I know it!”

The phone rang again. Peter's wife answered to a loud voice. “I'll pass him your message,” she said hurriedly and hung up. She shook her head. The phone rang again. Carol wrote down a man's name and answered the next call.

“Can you believe these fans, Pete?” The Razor asked. “They're the best!”

Peter watched Carol intently. She again shook her head after hanging up. Peter closed his eyes.

The phone rang again.

“You want this?” the wrestler asked elbowing the guitar over to Peter. He stood up and walked to the aquarium where he bent down to watch the fish. Peter looked over when Carol hung up the phone. She mouthed the words “Chase Bank”, and wrote again on the yellow legal pad. This particular bank had called six times in three days.

It was almost five o'clock. The calls were coming faster and with more anger as the clock ticked.

“They're the best fans in the world,” The Razor said watching his tropical fish. “My God! Really! The very best!
