I am the girl

I am the girl in the shadows, who waits, observing.
Every now and then, someone will notice me and smile.
I watch the other people and wonder what they're like.
If anyone is like me.
If anyone else wants to be heard.
If they want to break free of their internal boundries.
I stay in the shadows, but that's who I am.
The girl who watches.
The girl who has a good heart and an intelligent mind.
The girl who loves too easily.
The girl who is oversensitive.
The girl who doesn't know who she is.
The girl who can't find a place to fit in.
The girl who is misunderstood and thought of as something different.
The girl who cries at other people's pain.
Those are all of the things that I am.
That is a fraction of who I am.
That is me.
