My pace was slow as I dragged my feet in the sand.
The sun peering down on my remorseful soul.
My body was heavy with the weights of my sins.
Causing me to nearly fall to my fate.
Returning to the dust of the earth.
Tasting its bittersweet taste upon my tongue.
Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust.
From the earth I came, I shall leave the same.
Reaching for the Sun, to save me before my reaper comes.
My entire life flashed before my eyes.
My knees buckled, I met the ground.
Slowly I gasped for air.
Then the awful pain engulfed my body.
Still I didn’t not cry, fight, or curse; I simply closed my eyes.
As I begin to fade toward the melting sun.
Everyone must die I guess now its my turn.
I took a chance on a chance. But the aces were high.
Or at least I thought.
I had gambled with my most precious asset.
And it cost me my life.
