For a book I'm writing.
Life. It will never be simple for anyone. Everyone faces obstacles, sometimes on a daily basis. If only they knew my secret... Probably wouldn't believe me of I told them. I don't belong here, I know I don't, I'm not like everyone else!

I should probably introduce myself, my name is Melody Bellemonte. I come from a long line of noble ancestors, I guess that's another thing that separates me else from the others here, bar my family and friends back home. They know my secret, they're just like me, as if we're a species of our own. I like to say I'm gifted... but I'm not sure if it's the correct word. It's strange, the word gifted, it becomes misinterpretated when it comes to me, I'm not gifted in that sort of way.

Maybe I should explain a little more in depth. I'm gifted, but not in a mortal way, I possess the gift of magic. Not you fake magicians stuff. No. I mean the real thing. I'm what you call a natural witch. See why others are unlikely to believe me? I mean what sort of mortal would?

Don't think it ends there, the witchcraft comes from my mothers side, my fathers side is even more unbelievable, to put it simply, my father is Lucifers son, making me, the granddaughter of Satan himself.

I know what your thinking? I'll tell you now that I am far from crazy! Well okay, myabe a little crazy... but in a good way!

Carrying on. There is one last thing... I am the angel of death.

Okay you can stop judging me now!

It's all true, and it's far from an easy life. Especially living among "normal" people. We only came here for a stupid research mission. See if it's possible to live among mortals without being found out for who we really are. I think it's safe to say "Mission successful". Nearly a year here and no mortal has suspected a thing. Thank god. Makes we wonder how people would react if they knew the truth though, I've been intrigued for many a year, but never intended to find out, frankly I worry about being burned at the stake in secret. Not like it would kill me, just get a serious case of third degree burn.

One month left and then we can return to our home realm, I can't wait! It means I can finally practice magic in public again! Okay I know your thinking "Big whoop" but it's a big deal, nearly a year with barely any magic is horrible! I'd rather go visit granddad in hell, which actually isn't even all that bad, you get used to the smell of burning flesh and screams after a while, Lucifer is in fact a really nice guy, I'm not just saying that because he;s my own flesh and blood, but because he really is. Sure he's evil and all, but he has a great sense of humour! ... Still no catch huh? Your loss.

Anyways, back on track. I'm stuck here for another month. What could possibly go wrong?
