The darkness hides its demons
and mine are hidden well,
in the blackest evil regions
I've been to where they dwell.

Haunted by these endless dreams
and voices that don't leave.
Everyday it always seems
they're trying to deceive.

In silent streams of sadness
love is hard to feel,
my tears are from my madness,
the hurting doesn't heal.

I'll find some comfort from my fright,
a quiet interlude
where the street lamp sheds no light
I'll breathe in solitude.

I am a child of the night
that keeps it company
and I won't ever try to fight
the peace it gives to me.
