Chapter Eleven

Africa

It had only been four years since the Ganado incident but it had been ten years since, Wesker and I had infiltrated Tricell primarily with the help of the beautiful yet cruel Excella Gionne. Wesker and I both knew that she was very attracted to Wesker, I envied him somewhat but it didn’t really matter, I knew that Wesker had his own agenda. But, now I wondered what that agenda was at this point, he had not yet revealed to me what had occurred when he visited Spencer, Krauser was still recovering from almost being killed by Ada. I later learned that Wesker was the last survivor of an Umbrella project under the same name. But what did the term “Wesker Children” really mean? Was Wesker meant for greatness?
I didn’t know, whatever it was, Wesker immediately proceeded to further his relationship with Sherry and Steve. Steve had been resurrected, and his love for Claire made her the only important thing in his life, he would do anything to be with her again. As for Sherry, the years had gone by and Claire had never apparently tried to come and find her, Wesker had become a father figure in her eyes and she obeyed him without hesitation. To me, in the event that Wesker was finally killed, his legacy would be inherited by Sherry and Steve who I sometimes thought of as his children. Both remained in cryogenic sleep for the last few years, if something happened to Wesker it was my task to release the two. Either way I didn’t understand why Wesker was talking like this would be his last mission, until I saw Uroboros, until I heard Wesker talk about a new world order, about a new genesis. Even then, his death was not in the equation.

The BSAA had been a problem for some time now, we suspected an insider but it was of little importance, Wesker sent his apprentice and I to protect our black market broker Irving. Irving of course, was an idiot, he never figured it out even in the end that he was only our front man. I was the one making deals while Wesker himself continued to ensure that we had ample funding by taking advantage of Excella Gionne. Of course, it wouldn’t be hard for people to find someone like me, being one of the few white men in this part of Africa. I didn’t care, I wore sunglasses to hide my eyes and make it appear that I was just a tourist, in reality, I was aiding spread the Plaga amongst the general populace, I accomplished initial infection by holding a drive for an anti AIDS vaccine, in reality I was injecting people with the Plaga, the effects were devastating, and soon most every man and woman were under control of the Plaga.

Not long after, the BSAA had tracked the location of the black market deal. I learned that Chris Redfield was heading up the investigation, especially after hearing that the T Virus and the Plaga were involved in the negotiations. I walked quietly down a side street, accidentally bumping into a light skinned African woman on her way to the gate, she was young and fairly cute, but I didn’t have time or the luxury to enjoy the scenery, I merely mumbled “excuse me” and moved on quickly. I quickly found Irving and the Apprentice standing near the computer, Irving was backing up files onto a hard drive, all of the buyers were dead as well. “I guess it all went to shit huh?” I asked as I walked up towards Irving. “Here, Wesker said to have this just in case” The Apprentice said in a feminine voice as she handed me a 9mm pistol. “I guess this will serve to add additional strategy to my battles at least” I thought as I took the weapon and placed it in the left holster under my coat, the holster on the right carried my .50 Desert Eagle, of course it had been upgraded significantly since I started using it back in 98.

There was something very familiar about the Apprentice, I knew that she was female, but did not know her identity. Wesker had largely kept me out of the loop of how he had successfully fused the Progenitor Virus and Uroboros, thus making it just stable enough not to instantly kill it’s host. Uroboros originated from a rare flower, and that was all I really knew about it, Uroboros also had similar if not amplified effects that the Plagas had on people, but if it stabilized with the host, then a new life form would be created, one of absolute power. Krauser was sitting this mission out, he had continued to recover from the last mission, his wounds were healing very slowly. Ada, the traitor, had really worked a number on him. I was near the transport vehicle at the far end of the gorge when I heard shooting from afar, I picked up the binoculars and looked in the direction. That was when I laid eyes on Chris Redfield for the first time in Six years. “Chris Redfield” I muttered as I watched them enter the storehouse that Irving had went to get the rest of his stuff. “Shit.. He has the only backup hard drive on him too” I thought as I watched the Apprentice make her way there busting through the window and successfully extracting him from the room. We took off immediately as we signaled our nearby chopper Manjini to initiate the confrontation between the creature I called Batman and the BSAA.

We rode long and hard across the savanna, Africa, despite it’s problems with disease and government stability, was a beautiful country. Once we reached the other side, getting closer to the marshlands, we deployed a newly created Manjini modeled after El Gigante to deal with the BSAA Delta team that we had successfully evaded with minimal effort, although the knew we had passed by, I doubted they knew where we were going.

Irving The Sea Monster

When we finally reached the boat that would take us across the lake to the ruins where Wesker was waiting, we learned that Irving had lost the hard drive that contained the black market data we had acquired, so the Apprentice gave Irving a container that contained one of the parasites and ordered him to use it on himself or face Wesker’s wrath. Irving knew that Wesker would kill him if he learned of the loss at the meeting, but if Irving killed Chris, Wesker would definitely spare his life. I was instructed to remain with Irving as the Apprentice boarded a smaller boat and proceeded to make her way to Wesker. “Wesker” I thought, “What are you planning?” I stared off into space. I listened to Irving ramble on about how he was going to show us, how he was going to change our opinions of him. Of course he thought all of this out loud and in his irritating accent. Chris and his partner soon appeared, it seemed that they had been hot on our trail, which meant they had killed not only one of the Uroboros created beasts, but also the Batman and the Giant that we had left to take out Delta team. I motioned for Irving to inject himself and wait for my signal, he obeyed, I guess he assumed I was on his side, I wasn’t, but I wanted to great Chris for the first time in so many years since we had last met.

“Irving, show yourself and surrender” challenged the female, while Chris lowered his gun as one of the doors opened from the observation deck. He looked up at the opening as I stepped into view appearing from the darkness within, I immediately jumped out and landed on the deck in front of them. “Been a long time… Chris” I spoke ominously as looked up at him. “You!” Chris exclaimed raising his weapon, I rushed him and took him head on, quickly disarming him by grabbing his gun and backhanding him in the back of the head, knocking him to the floor, I dropped his gun and grabbed the woman’s gun as she prepared to fire, and leg swept her to the ground as well, I pointed the gun at her before dropping it next to her and stepping back. “Relax Chris, I’m not going to kill you or your partner just yet” I spoke with a slight smile. “Damn you, what are you planning!?” Chris spoke angrily as he recovered and stood up, he didn’t go for his gun though. “Oh I just wanted to catch up with you, that’s all, it’s a small world isn’t it?” I replied. “So you’re the one they call Dan, aren’t you?” the woman spoke as she struggled to rise. “Yes, I am the one and only, I’m guessing you are Sheva” I replied amused at her startled facial expression. “How do you know my name!?” she spoke enraged.

“Sorry to hurt your ego, but we do have our fingers in every pie on this planet in a way, I know who you are because I keep tabs on the BSAA, a wise man once said, Know your enemy like you know yourself.” I replied as she regained her composure. “Where’s Jill!?” Chris finally spoke up. “Oh, I knew that you had collected the data that Irving lost, it is of no consequence though… I’m going to be frank with you though Chris… I have no idea what you’re talking about, if you don’t know, I don’t know either” I replied. “Liar, She sacrificed herself to save me from Wesker, and I saw her on that damn hard drive… Now where is she!?” Chris replied with a heavy anger and hate in his voice. “Chris… I was not with Wesker when he went to visit Spencer and had an encounter with you and her, I don’t know anything about Jill or what happened to her” I replied, I was starting to become irritated with his arrogance. “I don’t buy that bullshit, you tell me where she is right now or I’ll…” he spoke before I cut him off. “Or you’ll what? Kill me? Shoot me? Arrest me? Please… don’t make me laugh, you forget that Wesker and I share the same abilities” I spoke before Sheva spoke up. “You’re a terrorist, we will bring you in or take your life” she spoke resolutely before adding one final touch, “for our fallen brothers.” I immediately burst into laughter, “Such love, such loyalty, please… your brothers begged for mercy before I slew half of them, before the creatures of our design slaughtered them, before we turned them into our own kin so to speak.” I chuckled. “You bastard!” she shouted, she started to raise her gun, but Chris stopped her. “Anyways, I think I’ve talked long enough, I pulled my gun and shot it at a life boat nearby, both cables snapped and it fell into the water and started to drift towards the back of the boat. “Not so fast!” Irving shouted as a tentacle appeared from his arm and knocked me to the ground. “Bastard, what are you doing?” I spat as I stood up.

“I’m going to Kill You and the others and prove my worth to those smug assholes that looked down on me, I’m the fucking star, this is my ship, now get off” he shouted again with his irritating accent before I pulled out my gun and opened fire, he quickly leapt into the nearby ocean as I stood up. Suddenly Sheva’s gun was pointed directly against the side of my head. “Idiot, we have bigger problems” I spat as she handcuffed her arm to mine. I immediately grabbed the handcuff and broke it off of my arm to her surprise as the boat rocked. Irving then appeared as what appeared to be a giant squid or something like it, it was huge. A hell of a lot bigger than the Del Lago creature described in the Kennedy report. “Move” I shouted as I ran for a mounted machine gun and opened fire on the beast. “Use those grenade launchers and help me kill this thing” I shouted. Chris hesitated only for a moment before a tentacle slammed hard onto the deck, I opened fire on it, causing it to withdraw.

“Don’t just stand there, do something” I shouted as the beast reared it’s head just aft of the ships bow. It’s mouth opened and Irving’s frail body appeared on an antenna. “Bastard, take this, I began to shoot him up before Chris fired explosives at the gapping maw, Irving was moving around rapidly making him difficult to hit, the majority of my bullets were missing him completely. Sheva ran up beside me with a grenade launcher in both hands. I quickly took it from her, and pushed her towards the machine gun as I took aim. Everything seemed to slow down and my eyes locked with Irving’s, my eyes lit up and glowed ominously as a well placed grenade hit the part of the tentacle directly behind him, severing him from the main unit, the rest of the grenades went directly into the beasts gaping maw, causing it to explode.

Irving landed hard on the deck as I quickly leapt to a nearby lifeboat and removed it from the boat. I then immediately sped off for the cave that would lead me to Wesker. I was in a hurry and did not need the lantern to see anything in the dark caves, I hurried past multiple Manjini and soon found the ruins of one of the subjugated tribes cities. Umbrella had moved in sometime in the late 70’s or so and took control of the local tribal lands forcing them to move into the marshlands. There was a local flower in the area, I didn’t know it’s actual name but I knew that it was the flower that the Progenitor Virus was derived from, and I knew that this facility had originally been kept a secret, from everyone excluding Spencer himself. As far as I knew, Spencer had passed this information on to Wesker during their meeting, and it made me wonder, just what had went down during that meeting? It wasn’t mine to consider, I just knew that I had to make my report to Wesker immediately.

I stopped for a moment to gaze upon the floral pedestal that was set up just outside the Tricell tents and entrance to the old facility. “The Stair Way to the Sun” It was called, it was truly marvelous, these flowers, they were all full of what I thought of as a natural “T Virus” now I could see why Spencer had been interested in them in the first place, hard to believe that the horrors faced in the Mansion and Raccoon City came from such a beautiful flower, ah but every rose does have it’s thorn. I immediately made my way through into the next room, and soon found Excella fiddling over four briefcases. “Excella” I spoke as I entered the room. “Ah, Dan it’s good that you’re here, here help me with these” she spoke as she continued to place syringes in the last two cases. I took hold of the other two cases and headed for the door, “Deliver those to Wesker” She spoke without looking up. “Very well” I replied pausing for a moment before saying one more thing before exiting the room, “Oh, Redfield and Alomar are on their way here, I suggest you hurry if you don’t want them to capture you” I added before departing.

Chapter Twelve
Ties that Bind

I didn’t like Excella very much, but I did feel somewhat sorry for her, she was head over heels in love with Wesker and he felt nothing for her. All that mattered was that I get these syringes to Wesker, they were filled with a chemical balancer that would balance out and maintain Wesker’s powers without him mutating or losing control, strangely enough though, I did not need such injections. But I never questioned why he needed the injections, then again maybe he and I weren’t the same, or maybe… the chemical was not a balancer at all but something else. I found my way to the ruined temple, into a very large and open area. Wesker was standing at the top of the steps with his female Apprentice. “Wesker” I addressed him as I entered the room, he turned to look at me, as did the Apprentice. “Wesker, what is going on? Is Jill Valentine still alive? What happened when you met Spencer face to face?! Tell me what is going on! Stop keeping me out of the loop!” I demanded. “Calm yourself” he replied. The Apprentice grabbed my arm awkwardly for a moment when I said Jill’s name, then let go.

Wesker then proceeded to explain the events that took place during his meeting with Spencer. “The Right to be God, That Right is now Mine” Wesker spoke ominously as he repeated the same words that he uttered before slaughtering Spencer. “So, you were manufactured.. Or you are the direct result of experimentation carried out to make a new race of beings” I spoke as I crossed my arms. “But you still didn’t answer my question, where is Jill Valentine?” I looked up at him. He stared back at me and smugly replied as the elevator came up behind us, “You’ll see soon enough.” Excella entered the area not too long after, she was a bit out of breath for a moment. “They’re practically right behind me” she gasped before regaining her composure. “Excellent work, Excella, you’ve brought me what I need, don’t worry about Redfield, we’ll handle them soon enough” Wesker spoke, I could tell he had his own motive for allowing Excella to eat out of the palm of his hand, but I didn’t really care, Excella was an evil woman, all she cared for was more power, but she was in love with Wesker. Not long after Chris and Sheva soon appeared, I had my back to a pillar on the lower level and was otherwise out of site. “Excella Gionne!” Sheva cried out in disgust before She and Chris were attacked by the Apprentice. I watched from the shadows as they fought, whoever Wesker’s apprentice was, they were really powerful, needless to say, I was impressed.

Chris then knocked off the helmet of the Apprentice, I gazed on with interest, this would be the first time I would see who was under the mask. “You never change” Wesker called out to Chris, much to his dismay and bewilderment. “Wesker! So you are alive!?” he spoke angrily. “What’s the matter Chris? I thought you would have been happier to see us” Wesker replied smiling as his fingers touched the part of the hood that draped over the Apprentice’s face. “Us?” Chris and I breathed at the same time. I thought that was my cue but when Wesker pulled back the veil it all made sense, even I was horrified. “Jill?” Chris spoke as his facial expression softened, and gun lowered. I was mortified, when Wesker said that it was because of his Apprentice’s cells that he was able to create Uroboros, I had no idea that he meant Jill Valentine. Of course it made sense now, the Nemesis cells that Jill had been infected with had created powerful antibodies that had resulted in a stable fusion of the Progenitor Virus and the Uroboros flower. I watched as they began to fight, I watched Jill’s facial expression, it saddened me to see such a good person be turned into a monster like this. “Jill” I uttered as the fight carried up to the elevator, Wesker was getting ready to leave on schedule, but Chris wouldn’t back down. Jill intercepted and then the unthinkable happened. She began to resist control, she undid part of her battle suit front to reveal the control device planted on her chest.

“Hm? Resisting at such an advanced stage?” Wesker commented before pulling out a controller and pressed a button, Jill screamed and held her head before regaining and slipping into an even more savage composure. “I’ll let you two catch up” Wesker smirked as he entered the elevator. The three were now in the main area again, Chris managed to grab Jill from behind as Sheva took aim at the device. “No!” I shouted as I rushed across the room and knocked Sheva down. Jill broke free of Chris’s grip and attacked him. I approached her and was upon her as she turned around, she stopped for a second before I took hold of the device and pulled it from her chest, she shrieked before falling on the ground. I crushed the device in my hand and knelt at Jill’s side. I felt the cool barrel of Chris’s gun press against my forehead. “Get away from her” He uttered barely controlling himself. I didn’t respond or comply as I tilted Jill’s head up so she could breath as she came into conscious awareness. “Chris!” Jill gasped before looking at me. Chris knelt beside her and I put her in his arms. I stood up and turned my back on him, Sheve pressed her gun against my back. I started to walk away.

“Where are you going!? You’re under arrest!” Sheva shouted. “I may pay for what I did just now, but it doesn’t matter… Good people should be spared whenever possible” I replied turning my head only slightly to look at them out of the corner of my eye. I then entered the elevator pushed the down button. “I will probably incur Wesker’s wrath for this” I thought as I walked through the cave that overlooked the ship that would take us out to sea in order to deploy our stealth jet. I walked quietly, my coat fluttering in the wind. “Ah, there you are, so did Jill take good care of them?” Wesker asked his eyes glowed a faint red as he looked at me. I looked back at him and replied, “No, Jill was set free by Chris, they will be here soon enough” I replied without blinking. “That’s not what the security camera witnessed” Excella piped in as she pulled out a handheld screen and went to replay it before Wesker took it out of her hands. “It is of little consequence, nothing can stop our plans now” he said as his hand crushed the tiny device. “Go ahead and work on getting the bomber loaded and set for take off” Wesker ordered. “Very well” I replied, I was relieved that Wesker had apparently decided to spare me, but at the same time knew that Wesker did not normally tolerate failure.

“It is not my place to question Wesker’s intentions” I thought as I watched multiple Manjini load the bomber, after they were done I immediately ordered them to take up defensive positions located outside the mechanical bulkhead and machinegun nests outside the door leading to the hanger. I then made my way to the ships bridge and proceeded to make the ship ready to get underway. The ship was soon underway traveling at roughly 15 knots pace, I looked down as the workers we had used to get us underway were executed below by the Manjini. After they left the scene, Wesker appeared with Excella, I could hear the conversation and listened as I watched. “Albert why are you letting this traitor help you?” she began before he turned around and grabbed her by the throat. He pulled out a syringe with a dark liquid in it. “Let’s see if you are truly worthy of the world that I am about to create” He spoke as he injected her with Uroboros. She fell unconscious near the pile of executed bodies as he let go of her and left the area. I settled back into the captains chair quietly before Wesker entered the bridge. “Excellent, I see that everything is on schedule and that there are no further delays” he spoke as he stood at the camera console. He looked up for a moment and appeared to stare off into space. “The Right to be God… with Uroboros… I have that Right” he muttered to himself.

Even though I did not like Excella, it was her own fault for trusting a man like Wesker, hell the only reason I had lived so long was because I had proven myself during the Raccoon City and Alexia fiascos. However, as I watched Chris and Sheva enter the area that Wesker had left Excella in. I realized that this was truly the beginning of the end, tonight there would be a truly decisive battle that would either change the face of this world or allow it to continue living it utter bliss. “So… You’ve made it this far, congratulations Chris, Uroboros is on the eve of it’s appearance, Six Billion cries of agony shall birth a new balance” Wesker spoke ominously before Chris replied. “You coward, Show yourself!” He shouted before Excella came into view. “Why, After I’ve done so much for him?” She groaned bending over and holding her stomach, I could see her facial expression, she was in great pain. “I’m Sorry Excella but it seems that Uroboros has rejected you, and while you were very useful to me, there is but just one last thing you can do” Wesker taunted as I looked out the window eagerly. Wesker stood up and looked at me, “I’ll be waiting in the hanger bay, I’ll be expecting you to bring them dead or alive to me, oh and destroy Excella before she destroys the ship but after she’s killed Chris and Sheva” He spoke as he left the bridge. “Albert!!!!” Excella screamed at the top of her lungs before Uroboros burst out of her mouth consuming her body and then proceeding to consume her and the corpses of the nearby deceased, this newly formed creature then began to grow massive as it took on a new form that began to fill the entire area, Chris and Sheve narrowly escaped up to a platform not too far below the bridge. There was a device locked up there similar to the one that Chris has used on Alexia so many years ago, the technology was probably more advanced but different considering we lacked the original designs when I created it, and again I only knew of it from a report that we had kept when ransacking the Ashford mansion in the Antarctic.

The way it worked was by receiving a powerful electrical charge, once charged it would tag it’s target, allowing for a orbiting laser platform in space to zero in and blast the target with a highly intense laser, I remotely activated the charging system as Chris and Sheva ducked under one of the monster’s tentacles. In many ways this creature was nothing like I had seen before, it reminded me a lot of Plant 42 that I had seen in the mansion but other than that it was unreal how big it was, I was surprised we hadn’t sunk yet. I watched as Sheva used the weapon as soon as it was charged to blast a hole clean through the creatures core, it immediately dissolved into a disgusting pile of black goo and sludge. “Excella was not always a bad woman, she was beautiful and yet she was a product of her corrupt surroundings, when she met Wesker there was no turning back, but at the same time it was her choice, if she had turned him down when he approached her none of this would have happened” I thought as I placed the ship in auto pilot and prepared to leave the bridge. The door opened just as I started to walk toward it, it was Jill and one of the surviving members of the BSAA Delta team.

“Jill…” I spoke as I stopped in my tracks before the man with her pointed his gun at me. “Why did you rescue me?” She asked. She didn’t even draw her weapon. I stared at her before replying, “Jill, I didn’t even know that Wesker had used you to begin with, and when I saw what was going on back there, I could see the confliction and torment in your eyes… that was when I knew you were not the same Jill and that your partnership with Wesker was not voluntary, I cannot have it on my conscience that I allowed someone that I believed to be a noble person to suffer such a fate, so I took it upon myself to release you from your bondage” I stated and paused for a moment before continuing. “There is a helicopter pad in the opposite direction towards the front of the ship, and the hanger bay is behind us… it would be wise of you to use that chopper once Wesker takes off in the bomber” I finished and looked down at the floor.

Jill walked toward me and placed both hands on my shoulders and then one hand on my face as I looked at her. “You are not like Wesker, not anymore… please help us defeat him” she spoke as her pale blue eyes made contact with my red and yellow cat like eyes which glowed ominously. “I cannot betray Wesker, I’m sorry but he is your responsibility… not mine” I spoke as I stepped back and then walked passed her, the Delta Team member attempted to stand in my way, I grabbed his gun and pushed him hard into the wall, dropping his gun on the ground I stopped in front of the door. “Wesker’s strength comes from a T Virus variant, Excella keeps a serum that keeps it stable with her, find the serum and you’ll have the key to defeating Wesker” I spoke and left the room. A fire had broken out in the room before hanger, I knew why as multiple Manjini battled it out with Chris and Sheva, I quickly made my way past the scene manually overriding the door with my pass code and sending out the two machine gun Manjini after I subtly  placed the key cards in their pockets, knowing that Chris and Sheva would find them in order to quicken the inevitable decisive battle that was about to occur.

Chapter Thirteen
A World Worth Fighting For

“They will arrive shortly” I breathed as I entered the hanger, Wesker stood with his back to me looking out at the bomber and upon the star less night before us. Not long after, I had started to descend down the stairs when I heard Chris. “Wesker!” he shouted. “There’s no way out this time!” Sheva piped in. “Don’t you two ever tire of failing in your mission? You‘ve really become… quite an inconvenience for me” Wesker spoke. I looked on as he took off his sunglasses and threw them at Chris, at the same time he rushed both of them while they were distracted and proceeded to battle them. The movements were fast and difficult to describe, Wesker dodged bullets, produced spectacular grapples and even defeated Chris in a show of strength proving that almost all of Chris’s muscle building had been in vain. “Why are you doing this, what are you accomplishing by unleashing Uroboros!?” Chris shouted. “Every day human beings come one step closer to their destruction, I’m not destroying the world, I’m saving it” He proclaimed as he rushed Sheva, grabbing her arm and spinning around behind her choking her with his arm. Chris and Sheva then tried to double team Wesker with a back kick but Wesker grabbed both of their legs with one hand and threw them over his shoulders into the pit below. He then proceeded to jump down there himself. “Things are really getting interesting now, eh Chris? Do you really think you can defeat me?” Wesker taunted with a smile. “Either way I’m not going to stop until I’m dead” Chris defiantly replied. “Well good, I’ll just have to kill you quickly” Wesker spoke with a full smile. I pushed a button on wall that turned on the lights in the pit, and jumped down into the pit myself.

I loaded a rocket launcher in the darkness and dropped it on the ground as Sheva was backing up toward my position. She tripped over it clumsily and picked it up, she then proceeded to pick it up and took aim at Wesker. Sheva fired the rocket, but Wesker was able to catch the projectile with his bare hands, until Chris shot the rocket causing it to explode in his face, of course this only stunned Wesker momentarily. But the delay was long enough for Chris to grab Wesker from behind and for Sheva to run up and stab one of the injectors into Wesker’s chest. The result was almost instant, Wesker had now been poisoned by the chemical balancer. I immediately jumped several times over to the jet and entered the cockpit and prepared it for take off, as a signal to Wesker to get on board. Wesker soon entered the cockpit and slumped against the wall. “Are you alright?” I asked turned to look at Wesker. He looked like hell, and I could tell that he was struggling with this poison. “I’ll shut the cargo bay door” He merely grunted as he exited the cockpit, we were almost ready to go airborne as it were. I turned on the audio listener and looked at the camera to see that Chris and Sheva had made it inside, Wesker was kneeling on the ground near the door and he appeared to be suffering from the effects of the overdose. “It seems I’ve underestimated you, Chris” Wesker’s voice came over the speakers. “Save it Wesker, There’s no one to help you now” Chris proclaimed.

“I don’t need anyone else…I have Uroboros, In less than 5 minutes we’ll reach the optimal altitude for missile deployment, Uroboros will be released into the atmosphere ensuring complete and global saturation.” He spoke stood up. I calculated the flight plan and placed the air craft in auto pilot. I loaded my pistol and went back to the cargo bay. I kicked open the door just as Chris took hold of Wesker a second time, “I‘ve had enough… of your bullshit!” He exclaimed and injected Wesker a second time. “You’re just one of Umbrella’s leftovers” He added. Chris then made a mad dash for the door opener, I proceeded to step in his way before a bullet landed in my shoulder, I stepped back, it was my fault for being careless. Just as I stepped back Wesker slammed his fist through the door opener just as Chris pulled down the lever and fell onto the floor. “You’ll pay for that!” Wesker exclaimed as we immediately lost power. “Shit, we’re going to crash!” That was all that went through my mind as I immediately made a mad dash to the cockpit, multiple alarms were going off before I finally spotted it. A Volcano island was not too far away, and it appeared we were on a collision course, I could not adjust the flight path, the controls had locked up. “Son of a bitch!” I shouted as I looked at the camera display. I watched as Wesker was shot in the shoulder by Sheva and was essentially ejected from the plane, I knew Wesker would survive the fall but what if he landed in the lava of that active volcano.

We crash landed almost immediately afterward, remarkably the aircraft’s body remained intact minus a wing and the tail end. I busted through the windshield and stood on the nose of the craft and hoped down on what appeared to be solid earth below, fortunately it was stable and I proceeded to walk up towards the back before Wesker came into view, his shirt had caught fire and was missing, he walked up and stood on top of the only remaining wing and appeared to look down at someone below. “I should have killed you years ago, Chris” Wesker spoke with a certain hint of extreme hatred in his voice. “Your mistake, it’s over Wesker!” came Chris’s voice in reply. I noted a helicopter appear overhead. “Over?” Wesker laughed before speaking one more time. “I’m just getting started!” He proclaimed before plunging his arm into the nearby missile that contained Uroboros. Infection was immediate and instantaneous. I watched as black tentacles appeared everywhere on Wesker’s body, but he wasn’t overwhelmed like Excella was, but at the same time I knew he was desperate. I watched as he leapt from where he was standing and landed in front of Chris and Sheva.

I watched as the final battle was hashed out, it was not what I expected, because Wesker had been poisoned, he was substantially weaker than before and thus was having a difficult time. I couldn’t help him though, but the battle was not something to really talk about. I watched as Sheva and Chris exploited a large orange glowing bulge that appeared on Wesker’s chest and back, it seemed to be his weakness. And then the unthinkable happened, the ground beneath them shook and Wesker fell into the lava, he let out a loud scream and there was nothing I could do for him. I watched as the helicopter hovered over them with a ladder. “Grab on!” I heard and looked up and saw Jill looking down. Sheva climbed up first before Chris grabbed on and proceeded to climb on. I then heard Wesker. “CHRIS!!!!!” Wesker shouted as his left tentacle lunged out at them and took hold of the choppers right landing leg. And then I watched in horror as Sheva and Chris produced rocket launchers, simultaneously firing them at Wesker, the first one breezed by his head, the second ripping through his shoulder. It didn’t matter though as an eruption of lava behind him covered him due to the first rocket missing him. And in that split second, I watched a man who had been my friend and mentor, if not my brother, die. The helicopter flew away and I fell to my knees. “WESKER!!!!!!!” I howled. Suddenly, my radio beeped. “Dan? If you’re there, we are on our way” Krauser’s voice spoke gruffly over the speaker.

Epilogue (Or is it?)

Several hours passed before Krauser arrived in a chopper, I looked up and took hold of the ladder and climbed up, I stopped midway and watched as the volcano erupted, incinerating the bomber and any chance of continuing our work on Uroboros. Krauser grabbed my arm and pulled me into the helicopter. I sat down. “Where is Wesker?” Krauser asked. When I merely looked at the ground, Krauser said nothing. “Where to boss?” The female helicopter pilot asked. “Oh, take us to London, then we‘ll head to the base in the Antarctic” I replied, “What is your name?” I asked. The pilot removed her helmet and turned to look at me. “My name is Tiffany” She replied, I took a moment to take in her features, blonde hair, piercing blue eyes. I then looked out at the rising sun. “This world will continue to live on until the day of reckoning, I must carry out Wesker’s Will, and release Sherry and Steve” I thought as I slumped back in my chair and closed my eyes. Krauser offered me a new pair of sunglasses. I took them and put them on. “Or… should I take that legacy for myself?” I pondered as we made preparations to land on an Umbrella ship that Krauser and Tiffany had launched from.
