The Joyous Cup, by T. J. Shemaly

O my joyous cup of toxication
below, near this mouth be revealed
While the sobriety in tears to aggregation
give me the whispers that me, they healed
While on your surface I set the imagination
by thy redishness, my memory got sealed
About memories into some incarnation
sweet and bitter, of a love got sold

Once in Jerusalem and once there, in Tabriz
in the sky of Rome, Sparta and inside Ovid
People seek the red and you, just to please
but they don't know, they please you instead
Fill me with passion over the mount of tease
and let sobriety whine, just as I did and weeped
Sober I was and sober to be, Oh please,
what is life but a pain, and a pain in need

But reckon my words, O cup of my wisdom
and let not people trick you, nor would they do
Philosophy was one time born into martyrdom
and for it people cried not, but flying up to you
Thus do not complain, O duke of my freedom
for chasing my sobriety away from what you do
And you my Reddish, you're in thy wide kingdom
laugh or cry, the heart flows, wherever, into you
