When all warmth leaves the world, all that remains... (Form: Free Verse)
Absolute Zero

I live in a frozen landscape.
I look around and see only ice sculptures
      of people,
            of places.
There is no movement in my heart.
There is no animation in my life.

It was your love that, sun-like,
      made the days dance
            made the nights warm
made my world alive.

Then, it was gone.

Snow covered the flowered fields
      of youthful abandon
chilled by the arctic winds of loneliness.

I reach for your frozen beauty
and find only
      a memory
            an emptiness
                an ending.

Thank you for taking time to read my words.  I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment.  Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise *Smile* are all equally welcome.
