A poem about private life - what we may consider not to matter should it remain hidden.
They fall like hair in unclipped curls,
Whispers shouted, lovers loathed,
Secrets cast across her walls,
Dancing in the private dark

Her tale unravels unaware,
unabated, unassuming,
It sprawls before forbidden's eye,
Lies naked in the clockwork light.

Dye-like tears swirl in the dust,
Beyond the threshold veil,
Truths flit with furtive, fleeting steps,
Lost dryads with mistrusting eyes.

They do not hear his harboured breath,
Nor suspect his fine incision.
They will not seek the surgeon's gaze,
Behind their windup monologue.

Yet one unseen is still one true,
The eye pressed to the keyhole.
Curious hands press through the coggs,
Stain blood upon the veil
