Everyone is breaking.
All our hearts are aching;
And as time goes by,
Our pain will not subside.

It may seem that we don’t care
Or that sorrow is no longer near
But this sadness will never leave;
To our hearts it will always cleave.

We are like the trees
Growing stronger with time.
When just a twig, the smallest breeze
Would be seen by every eye.

But as time goes by,
That twig becomes stronger
And the breeze is no longer
Visible to each and every eye.

That’s how our hearts are now—
Growing more able and stronger
To hide the pain and sorrow
That we sometimes feel all day long.

We can become masters at
Hiding it all with a simple smile
But it may actually be that
Our hearts are breaking all the while.

We still love you very much,
And miss you dearly—
You will forever be close
To our hearts.
