I sat outside

Watching the brown and green leaves fall

The wind hitting my cheek

The tingling of the brisk air on my nose



I sat outside

Watching the children play

Their gloves on the snow-covered ground

The smell of hot chocolate brewing



I sat outside

Listening to the rain patter on the roof

Each drop falling from the grey sky

Thunder erupting from the heavens



I sat outside

Letting the sun hit my face

The whistling of the birds

The calmness of the blue sky



I sat outside waiting

Waiting for him to return

Hoping he was okay

Praying he was still alive
