Sacred Trust

You've betrayed the trust I gave to you,
The sacred trust long since forgotten,
This trust cannot be bought,
It cannot be stolen,
Gained or freely given,
It is the most valuable item in the world,
And yet very few obtain it, or can keep it,
I gave this trust to you,
I gave you my heart.

You've betrayed the trust I placed in you,
You've lost the trust I gave to you,
Misplaced it, I don't know where,
But what is lost, can be found,
But in this case do I want it to be found,
To hand you back that sacred trust,
Would be utter lunacy,
Whats done is done,
At least I tried,
This pain will subside,
And I will be here when it leaves,
The better for having survived,
Survive I will, to return again,
But you are lost forever.

It hurts now, but I will heal,
I will succeed, I cannot fail,
I will not disappear quietly,
I will fight with everything I have,
I will not be forgotten,
And you, and everyone like you,
Who betrayed me, or wronged me,
Will regret,
Breaking that sacred trust.
