sad poem about a little boy named Tommy |
His name was Tommy, He was only eight, His bright blue eyes shining, He could hardly wait. He was so happy, That fateful day, So full of the life, Too soon taken away. The dark omen fell, Over that terrible night, With Tommy's life extinguished, Nothing made it right. Tears fell by the thousands, From each and every eye, Clad in mournful black, They could only ask why. Tommy couldn't run, Couldn't play anymore, Lying in a casket, On a hard concrete floor. But Tommy wasn't gone, Not even close, He stayed behind, To see the ones he loves most. Mommy, she drank, From a big, forbidden jug, Cried herself to sleep, With no little boy to hug. Daddy, he yelled, For hours on end, Started kissing other ladies, Fell into deep sin. Mommy had been drinking, Driving way to fast, Her car hit a tree, And she stopped crying at last. Daddy couldn't take it, The pain of it all, He took a lot of pills, Tommy saw him fall. Mommy and Daddy, They lost their little boy, Now Mommy and Daddy, Are with their Angel Boy. |
