adventures of my 17th birthday weekend....
Birthday Weekend. part one.

Today I’m Seventeen, seventeen without a purpose or direction, and don’t owe anyone a fucking explanation. In the admirable words of Blink-182 I was preparing myself for an epic birthday.

On the morning of February 27, 2009 I woke up to a rousing rendition of happy birthday from my family who presented me with a cherry pie with a large candlestick, not birthday candles that would be to conventional, shoved in the center. Once I was downstairs there were also crescents and this pastry thing my sis had chosen which turned out to be pretty good.

Now, what you must understand is that my family is not the wealthiest people around and I have grown accustomed to not getting much for my birthday, I was expecting the usual DVD and Febreze. (not kidding, I’ve gotten that) So I was prepared for nothing more then the usual and that was okay with me, really it was. So when my mother came out with two small packages and an envelope I was neither upset nor surprised. I opened them and thanked them for there gift of two rope bracelets and a double pack of chapstick.

My sisters had to go get ready for school but I was skipping because I was taking my drivers test. I had practiced parallel parking all the night before an had gotten pretty discouraged hoping that it wouldn’t be my Achilles’ heal.

My mother and I sat in the line of cars at the DMV I was growing increasingly nervous. I honestly thought I was going to throw up. The examiner got in the car and had me sign a few items of importance then the test began. It was easier then I expected. I fucked the parking bit up a little but other then that it was a cake walk. After I got my license my mom took me to make a set of my own set of keys, I’ve always wanted keys.

The first thing I wanted to do with my license was drive to my aunts house where my little cousin Scotty is, I wanted to bring him McDonalds like my aunt would do for me, and because it would have been where I taken my grandmother because it was a tradition, regardless of how shitty the food is. I found my way all the way to her house without being lost once neither up nor back, and it was a decent ride may I add.

After I got back from my aunts all I wanted to do was go see Jazzie. Jaz is my closest friend, I’m always txting her and know she’ll always be there. I drive over to her house and with my I-pod adaptor in the car we blast the music and decide to go visit our friend Demi, who lives a couple of towns over. While were at Demi’s house we finalize the plans we have made for the next day.  After leaving Demi’s house I drop Jaz off at her house and start to drive home, I don’t go home immediately however, I end up driving aimlessly around without a purpose or direction, that is until curfew.
