This is an Epic Poem that tells a story.
Cold was day and cold was night,
And Blackness reigned with evil’s might,
And never was found a single good Knight,
Cold was day and cold was night.

Cold was earth and cold was sky,
To face this evil, none would try,
And many waited for good to draw nigh,
Cold was earth and cold was sky.

Cold was air and cold was sea,
Across it came, reluctantly,
A man filled with fear of thee,
Cold was air and cold was sea.

Cold was sword and cold was blade,
Into a Knight this man was made,
He sought that to which he was bade,
Cold was sword and cold was blade.

Cold was night, cold with fear,
For the knight came hither and yon and near,
To face this evil, he did not fear,
For cold was night, that had gained his fear.

Cold was dark and cold was light,
That shown upon the battle’s blight,
As the forces of good battled forces of night,
Cold was dark and cold was light.

Cold was shadow and cold was its king,
Whose might held by merely a string,
Yet who could defeat this terrible thing?
Cold was shadow and cold was its king.

Cold was the day, and cold was meet,
For the forces of good faced certain defeat,
And among them left was little to eat,
Cold was the day, and cold was meet.

Cold was the sun that rose that day,
The day the knight came to play,
Who would win?  Who can say?
Cold was the sun that rose that day.

Cold was the air, cold was the field,
On it lay a broken shield,
A marker of the battlefield,
Cold was the air over the field.

Who was dead?  Who survived?
Did evil ever escape alive?
Or were the Knights cold in drive,
And drove it way back to its hive?

Cold was fire, that burned and burned,
Did good win?  Is the battle turned?
Did the Knight to his home return?
Or did he stay, to live and learn?

Cold are the questions that burn in our hearts,
Cold is this story, wherever thou art,
Yet cold is the wisdom I give unto thee,
Cold is the Knight who shall save thee.

Cold was day and cold was night,
And Blackness reigned with evil’s might,
And only was found a single good knight,
Cold was day and cold was Knight.
