A poem/lyrics I made up in maths class.
We’ve known each other
since, like Grade One.
And you’ve always been there
when there’s work to be done.

I always wanted you,
You knew that too.
You showed you cared about me,
I swear its true.

But one day things changed,
and she came along.
She changed our lives,
made us feel oh so wrong

Love is a poison,
It just isn’t fair.
I’m standing here
and she’s standing with you there.

My heart burns in toxic,
I know it’s a sign.
But no matter what,
you’ll always be mine.

Now we’re all grown up,
and she is still here.
My heart has gone cold
and I’ve lost all my fears.

But one day you call,
and you sound so alive.
My heart skips a beat,
and at your door I arrive.

You say she will stay,
for forever and more.
Then you show me the ring;
and it burned to the core.

Love is a poison,
It just isn’t fair.
Now she’s standing here,
with a child inside there.

My heart’s still in toxic,
but I’m feeling fine
cause’ no matter what,
your always still mine.
