The last chance plea answered
Now I struggle, twist and ache
with the choice I'm about to make

Where's my last minute saving grace?
Where's that "knock at the door" so I can save face?

I feel so oppressed, left behind, and forgotten
I need to feel love, not left to be rotten

I yell out to God "Why have you forsaken me!?"
"Why haven't you been there, why have you just let me be?"

I look up in anger and shake my hands
Then a warmth comes over me that helps me understand

Its as if in that moment, the last possible one
God showed himself, like I was his favorite son

And then He said to me, "I've never left you, I've been here all along"
"You've been to busy to notice, to busy being wrong"

"Through all the hate, anger and sadness"
"I was there trying to show you love, caring, and gladness"

"It was not I who had forsaken you, but you who had forsaken me"
"What else could I do but let you be."

"What I had to offer you wanted no part of"
"You were too busy rejecting me and my love"

I said to God "No, this cannot be, I asked you for help continuously"
I begged and I prayed but you answered not my plea!"

"Son" God said to me, "I've heard your prayers and your pleas
You were too prideful to listen to me

"You wanted proof that I existed"
"All you needed was faith as I've asked not to be tested"

"Why now Lord, why reveal yourself at the last possible moment"
"So you had no doubt it was Me that saved you from your torment."

And with that being said the conversation was done
I now knew He was right, that I am truly his son

He left me with hope, love, and gladness
For the first time in a long time I lost my sadness

I screamed out "Thankyou God for saving me!"
"Thankyou Lord for answering my plea!"
