Lovers first meeting
Tryst

You secured the time and place
Clandestine, provocative, sly
At leisure, we enjoyed one another
Limits? Imagination, the sky

My inexperience, your reserve, dissolved
Bodies bare, every flaw, trustfully exposed
Current, pressing matters, indefinitely on hold
Thoughts flew, opinions heard, ideas flowed.

Music, wine, chocolate, food
Surprises, discovery, ticklish reaction
Spent early on, we completely unfolded
Sneaky glances, smiles, untold attraction

We spoke of the questionable art that littered the wall
Discussed mirror placement for a very short while
Mixed and muddled, kissed and cuddled
Unfettered. we escaped into easy self exile

Submerged in that first layer of sleep.
Relaxed, redolent, completely spent
Occasionally I stirred and nestled closer
Impossibly drowsy, utterly content.

Trapped in a delicious hazy warmth
Tangled in sheets, willingly confined.
Passion ebbed, we engaged in slumber
Comfortably sated, limbs entwined.

The second layer steals upon us
Sinking ,sighing, closely we spoon
Softer, deeper, our breathing slows
Dreamy smiles, two lovers, one tune

The third and final layer temptingly called
But sense and reason were resistant
Back to the world we surface
Our separate lives firm, persistent

Silently we survey our surroundings
Scattered clothing, stray picnic crumbs
Lacy panties are donned, briefs restored
Last check of the room, goodbye comes

Reluctantly we leave our tumbled playground
Parting kisses, one more look at an adored face
We close the door on sweet secret time
In the deserted hallway share a last embrace

Waiting on the elevator, I watched you go.
You turned, took the stairs, disappeared from sight.
Even as I descended, my thoughts lingered on our hours
And the vague promise of such another stolen night
