I waited for my bag to arrive at carousel “D” in the Toronto Airport. I glanced to my right and saw a familiar face. Larry was standing at the next carousel waiting for his bag. Larry worked with Dad for many years, including several years as Dad’s boss. He recognized me and we had a short chat before we each went our separate ways.
As I left, I thought, “I can’t wait until I get home and tell Dad that I ran into Larry. He’ll be surprised.”
Then I stopped in my tracks and thought again. That won’t be possible. Dad died six years ago.
