Story of a lost man, written for the Writer's Cramp.
The Wandering Man

Hello there, Sir!
From where do you hale?
Can you tell us your name?
Can you tell us your tale?

It was just this morning,
You showed up in the square
Your clothing is strange,
What fate brought you there?

These shoes are odd,
We've never seen the like.
Can you tell us, please, Sir,
What is a Nike?

And this thing, Sir,
That opens and closes
With its eerie light
And the picture of roses

And its number board
That make a strange sound
When we press it
Is this witchcraft we've found?

If that is the date,
It cannot be true.
This is the year of our Lord,
Eighteen O Two.
