Valentines day is not always about "lovers."
In all towns there is always something lingering in the air, something that doesn't seem quite right and inhuman, an devoid of the dark, something sinister and morbid with a dry feeling of regret, anger, sadness, and terminal feelings that I have been caused by suffering; perhaps another dweller that crosses the boundaries of death into our domain, terrorizing this world into submission.
If someone has told you this is a world with no conflict, regret, or retorting remarks, they were mistaken and perhaps were talking of another dimension with more and harmony and respect.
This is the world, the center of the crossworlds, where every creature of the mind crosses the gate of Hell.
All the rumors and fairy tales and perhaps the superstitions of mankind have now escaped the portal that held them for eternity.
Now their on the prowl for the new victims, and fresh blood to spill into the night.
Chapter 1 The Seeker
There was a man named Brian who was trying to find a lovely present for his wife, something new, something the no one as thought of.
He was tired of the same thing over, and over again hearts, chocolate, and flowers. He was tired of that hold facade he wanted to do something really special but so far, he could not come up with anything except for the usual, traditional gifts.
He wanted to do something unusual for he knew that his wife was tired of the usual gifts, but she was trying to use common courtesy but he knew deep down that she was unhappy, and rather bored with the shower of gifts he presented to her every year.
His wife deserved something better, after all when you marry, part of the oath means that you are to make each other happy with the rest of your lives in sickness and health. He would do anything for his wife.
This time he was going to go far-out, surely there was a different way to celebrate Valentines Day with someone you love, perhaps even romantic.
So the husband went around each store, failing to find anything even remotely interesting. Rather bored and very angry, he yawned looking at his watch his wife would be home soon. Oh well looks like another failed Valentines Day.
Sighing unhappily he went out towards the parking lot, where his lovely blue sedan sat in wait for the owner to be off, to the house. Something caught the husbands eye.
"Well, well, well he thought to himself, a sale. What if there is something over at that sale he thought to himself excitedly."
Chapter 2 The Storekeeper
He did not remember a sale being there when he had parked, well he was very absorbed on his train of thought he rationalized. "It doesn't hurt to look he thought tiredly." "Excuse me sir, Brian said in an eloquent tone, do you have anything for Valentines Day, that may be well let's just say, I want something original, a product different from everyone elses.
"Ahhh said the man I know exactly just what it is you want." "Thank you have no idea how much this means to me." "Don't thank me just yet'" said the man in a grave tone.
The smile on Brian's face faded away. "What do you mean" he said in an uneasy tone. There was something about this man, something off, a little sinister.
Perhaps it is best for him to leave, maybe there is somewhere else he could find something of value. The wind started to pickup. "Are you thinking about leaving the man said with an amused smile. "Umm no Brian stammered, no I was just-"
"Just what" the shopkeeper asked." I was thinking that surely you would be closing up by now, like all the other shops, Brian said looking at his watch."
"Oh no, not me I like to stay out a bit later; feel the nice cold breezes that the gods so generously gave us."
