Chapter 1.

I felt different when I woke up today and I wondered why, suddenly I realized it was the first day of the summer holidays, Yippee I thought, whilst I was thinking of all the things I was going to do this holidays my Mum & Dad begin to shout something up the stairs so I stop thinking about the holidays for a moment and listen, “ Alexa, Jake, Mike, Heather come down here at once,” they shout
“ OK,” me, Jake, Mike and Heather shout back. We all run downstairs into the kitchen where mum & dad are sitting and everything is extremely quiet, “ mum, dad what the hell is going on,” I enquire
“ Firstly Alexa you watch your language,” my mum says
“ OK, I will but what is going on because I want to know,” I say
“ Well,” my mum says slowly biting her lip “ me and your dad have been doing some thinking and you know we have been arguing a lot lately, well we’ve decided to get a divorce because we think that’s what’s best for us all, we don’t want you to grow up with parents that are like that,” she finishes.
“ WHAT!!” I yell
“Alexa think about from point of view, we want to be better parents to you guys” mum says trying to calm me down.
There is a long silence and then finally I say
“ Well if it makes you two happier then maybe it’s for the best but I’m not that comfortable with the whole thing, I don’t think any of us are.”
“ It would make us happier as parents to you,” my mum says
“ OK, then I guess we’ll have to put up with it won’t we,” Jake says
“Well yes but it’s not all bad you get a choice on one thing,” my mum says “ Even though when parents get divorced the kids normally stay with the mum, we’ve decided to let you chose who you’d rather stay with.”

Me and Heather decided to stay with mum and Jake and Mike decided to move away with dad, I knew I’d miss them and that it would be hard but I put up with it ten minutes later me and Heather were at home with mum and Jake and Mike had gone off to Wales with dad, I was unhappy but I knew deep down it was probably for the best.

*5 minutes later *

Mum’s said I can ring Liz (my best friend) and see if she wanted to come over for a bit so I’m now on the phone and I’ve just dialed Liz’s number, next thing I know she's saying hi at the other end of the phone. “ Hi Liz it’s me,” I say
“ Oh hi Alexa,” she says “what’s up,”
“ I was just wondering if you wanted to come over for a bit,” I tell her
“ Yeah ok I will but give me ten minutes would you,” she replies
“ Ok see you in ten minutes, oh and when you get here i have something really important to tell you and i really need someone to talk about it with” I say
"ok Alexa i'll be there as soon as i can then you can tell me what you need to," Liz says " Bye see you soon Alexa
"Yeah bye" i reply and put down the phone.

chapter 2

Liz has just arrived and we're in my bedroom talking, "oh Liz i've got some bad news to tell you" i start "errm my parents have just split up and Jake and Mike have gone to live in Wales with dad"
"OMG i'm so sorry Al (Al is my nickname), i wondered where Jake, Mike and you're dad were" Liz says looking sympathetic
"i know i'm miss them so much already and they only left like about 15 minutes ago" i say sadly
"i really am sorry Al and i'm here for you" Liz says putting her arm around me.
