My first attempts with the "Event" Poetry Form |
3 EVENT POEMS: December 26, 2008 PHOTO EVENT POEM Dip the photo in sour cream and chives bite the ear lobe first off every character in the picture Taste the oil smear of glazed flesh Stick it on an envelope Mail the whole thing away wipe the sweat off your brow with it when it returns Wave it over smoke for signalling Serve pea soup on it and croutons Drive it around the corner until it falls asleep Feed it peppercorns and jalapenos for breakfast RAIN EVENT POEM Roll the rain up in a tiny ball and stick it in your ear Rake it from the clouds and plant each drop into the ground like a seed Climb on it to the sky Paint it with indigo, alizerins, and cobalts Pull it out of the clouds like drapes Spin it like sugar and eat it through a flavor straw Read to it until the cats and dogs go home and the snoring stops Stamp on it, shake your fists at it, punch it until it runs off with its tail between its legs SAND EVENT POEM Glue it to your hair and call it dandruff Press it into a gown and wear it to bed Mix it in a glass with chocolate syrup and drink it Shove it under your nails Put it in your shoes and socks for a foot massage clean your contact lenses with it Throw black paint on it from shore-to-shore Break eggs all over it Bake it into cookies Play marbles with it |
