New Year Same Old You

What seems like forever yet only a minute

what it feels like for the universe to be our only limit

as the night approaches a brand new year

there is no one else I would rather be with - my darling dear

As we link hands to sing the old Lang syne

Familiar warmth fills me to know your mine

To think of the times we celebrated this day together

and to know that our connection will go on forever

Tears fill my eyes blinded by the love in my heart

To know that even when time stops we'll never be apart

Time carries on - often leaving other's behind

but the memories of you will be forever loving and kind

People say change and things new are the way to go

I encourage to move along with the flow

but there is always something comforting to know

that things may be new but its always the same old you.

As I now look back on our lives that have passed

From the first day we promised it would last

to the present day of welcoming the new
