Closet Monster

Angry,

judging red eyes

stare at me through the dark recesses
of the cracks of the half open doors.

It licks lips

that are drawn tight over wet

pointy fangs as it devours me with it’s eyes.

The fear and judgement that I inflict on myself
feeds the beast that stares at me now.

It laughs silently as the knowledge that

I
created the beast

settles into me.
