Here's a toast to the new one
And a wave the the old
Time to realize we're done
And watch our future unfold

Times were so rough
Times were so soft
Times were confusing
So freakin' distraught

God gave us surprises
And put us to the test
He pushed us our farthest
To prove we're the best

Losses, gains, and on-and-offs
Heartbreaks, pains and monologues

Permanence, fickles, hard-to-chose
Troubled eyes and consciences too

Oh' eight oh' eight u played it well
Ur seasons came and never dwelled

Your days enlightened us
Your nights cooled us
Your rain depressed us
Your weather fooled us

Hope, resolutions, and one heck of a faith
Promises, treaties and commitments made late

We've been dealt with harder
We've been shocked endlessly
This is just another year
That we'll encounter happily

Time to shape up and get serious too
Oh' eight is passing and Oh 'nine is new

Come and git it oh' nine
Come and extend my wrinkles
I wud finish this poem
