An Anniversary Poem
|
TIME IS NOT LONG ENOUGH To: Allan Eugene and Delores Beatric on Their Wedding Day (July 14, 2004) If Jehovah were to give us two thousand years Three thousand would not be enough to Share with you I would be petitioning, no begging For a thousand more I would be suing for Eternity Hand in hand with you Time for us is a temporary pool Of threshing waters And sharp unexpected turns So tenuous that we can not depend On the day nor the hour But we will spend it together In gratitude for all that God allows If he gave us a thousand years Only Eternity would be sufficient Because there, you would exist Time means so much at this moment Now that I am getting to know you It has taken on dimensions Of honorable levels It is extended by adorable love Thank you, for choosing me Thank you, for accepting Now, my love as we go into a Union Of Timeless proportions I offer my love to you And every thing that I have I surrender Who is there to be considered? Jehovah and His Son, the Christ Our whole brotherhood Of selected friends Our families who shaped and Influenced who we have become Time is Not Long Enough We bring their best to our Wedding Day We look forward to the immediate Time When I will hold you by God’s permission We will truly become one Yes, One! My love As my own flesh will not know itself I will know and be one with you Passion will be tender and holy Time Is Not Long Enough To live out these gifts Of man to woman And you to me I will look into your eyes And tenderly taste your lips We will be made richer By the Time and Experiences Shared You are mine; I am yours Come; take my hand, my love Let all see and acknowledge That for us Time Is Not Long Enough by Earthene Fleming July 01, 2004 Author's Comments: "This poem was created for a very special couple. My friends, coincidentally, married the same day as we did. I didn't realize it, when I was writing this poem. I hope you will enjoy it as well as I did when writing it." |
