A paladin walks into the lake to his death, and wonders about his life.
The woe of the Paladin.

As I look upon the crescent up in the night sky,
I feel the tender touch of the moonlight,
I cry as I unveil to myself the revelations of evil past,
And I look down to my bloody hands,
That have been stained by murders countless.

I feel death draw nearer,
And as it does,
I feel the earth beneath my feel grow cold.
My bare feet.

I walk into the river,
And feel the waters close up around me,
The waters feeling like my sins committed.
The deep sensation of being lost.

I walk into the forest,
And I look upon the trees.
Standing alone, yet in unity.
And I look deep inside,
Seeing my will shredded into different fragments,
Fragments that stand not in unity.

I walk towards the harty laughs emanating from the barn,
And feel that they laugh together,
Yet I stand apart, wallowing in my sorrow.
It is there I decide my time has come,
To return to whence I came.

And thus, I walk to the river,
And feel the waters closing around me,
Closing around me as if in unison with death itself.

And it is there I realize,
Realize for the last time,
That I stand alone.
Alone to bear with my own sorrow and loneliness.

And I die,
With a smile on my face,
But with dread inside.
Like it has always been all my life….
