humorous tale of one man and his chicken
[Introduction]
Stew & Nonsense

"Good morning old lady" said the man in the hat.
"May I ask for your help this fine day?
"I was walking along with my heart full of song
When my faithful Ole chicken went astray"
Pray tell me dear lady, for I thought that just maybe
You'd seen him come pecking this way?"

Said the skinny old hag, dressed in tatty old rags
and with an evil glint in her eye.
"I ain't seen a chicken. Not the one that you're missing
No I ain't seen no chicken go by"

"Then that Knife that be rumored concealed in your Bloomers
And your liking for a nice leg of chicken,
Has nothing to do with the strong smell of stew & that Mouthful of feathers you're spitting!"

She let out a beam.
And with a look so serene said
"Why not come in for a treat?
Breads in the oven & dinners a cooking.
Come sit at the table lets eat!"
