Arthur Truman is the head of British Studies at one of the UK's oldest Universities. After many years of interdepartmental fighting, he is persuaded to take a six month sabbatical as a guest lecturer on a around the world cruise. Whilst at sea, plans are laid for the closure of his department, whilst closer to home he is subject to a Customs and Excise investigation, which leads him unsuspectingly to be the prime suspect of a money laundering and drug smuggling operation. In all the confusion, Arthur remains oblivious to what is happening around him as Government agencies from around the world prepare themselves for the sensational arrest of one of the World's most wanted men.
