As an angel

A sky so dark, so threatening
The moon that stares at me
The darkness that has filled my heart
Is the only thing I see
Not knowing where to run, to hide
loneliness that fills my tears
I wonder how and when I can
Stop running for my fears

As an angel I want to fly away
And conquer that dark sky
I want to feel and understand
So I can live another day
As an angel I want to fly away
And while looking at the earth
I will know why I am doing this
I will know what life is worth

A sky so bright, so beautiful
But I can’t see the light
The sun can’t reach my hidden heart
While it’s lost in its own fight

So there’s a reason for me to stay
