Time does not heal all wounds, but it's a nice aid.
The pain subsides whenever I drink;
The girls I sleep with and the condoms at my feet.
For a weekend at a time,
I can forget my lonely self.
I can think about my life,
Surrounded by somebody else.

Don't think my eyes are dry from a lack of emotion.
They crack when a tear tries to find itself a home.

This jealous spell won't seem to settle,
As my head pounds from the night before.
On these days, you'd think I'd sleep more;
No, I just lie naked with my clothes on the floor.

I walk around with a chin cocked high,
Thinking I'm the shit; forget everyone else.
I'm the fakest person you'll meet.
Crash and burn; I'm ash at your feet.

Don't get me started on your new boy.
It's a nice touch, though.
Can't see you lasting very far along.
He makes you happy, but thats it; you know.

Just give yourself a breather.
Love is patient, love is patient.
Cut loose your lover's chains,
Let them run free.
Time away can make time together even better.
The clocks hold the gavel.
