Puddle

there's a puddle
you stick your hand in
touch the bottom
pull your hand out
shake the water at me
I laugh and stick mine in
I don't find bottom
I reach for it
I keep on reaching
face down on water
farther down
head under water
keep reaching
shoulders wet
farther
half way under water
still deeper
feet sticking out
I reach farther
slipping completely underwater
I swim down
still I can't find it
I swim up for air
I touch glass
trapped
