What do her eyes then meet?
Sea shells of different shapes,
Some oblong and some round;
Yellowing photos misplaced,
Some letters lost and found;
Some crinkled diary pages
Chronicling life events
From childhood, school and army
Corporals and sergeants.
These remains of a brave life
Of a dynamic sort,
Was in Iraqi hot sands
So suddenly cut short!
