Moulding and sculpting
She was perfect. Designed to survive. The wars had made the
land harsh. Oria could live on insects or any vegitation. She was
completely self-sufficient; except for a mate. She needed to find
a suitable mate. Then she would be the mother of a new race.
There was little animal life left. The ultraviolet radiation had
blinded everything that walk or crawled or flew. Oria was protected
from the most severe solar flares. Her choices were mammals
or fish. She could adapt to any sperm. The offspring would be a
      hybrid.
"What form shall I produce in this loveless world?" her words
echoed in her floating pods. She yearned for a sweet embrace.
The heavy burden of her race was hers alone. She took what she
needed from other species that she kept cocooned in her pod. One
nest was launched over the sea another over a jungle.
Oria worried for her hundreds of children as she unraveled a
human male with her eight legs. "My virgin heart does not delight
in this human flesh." she took what was needed. The man's
children were born with eight arms and ten eyes. She let them
loose in the mountains, since their aptites were so ferocious.
Oria feared they would destroy what little life was left in the waiste
lands. "My instincts tell me that this race of man will come to no
good." she fretted and rolled a new cocoon.
