Had her, lost her!
"An Unknown September"
by Joe Leo

Seeing the world through the prism of Her;
I cannot reflect what I cannot see.

I look in the mirror and it is Her,
A shattered reflection is all I see,

Broken glass falling to the cold floor
Reflecting all that I will never be.

The only way out is through this lost door
That opens to a world I've never seen.

I've not done anything like this before,
Is this what it's like to never be free?

I lay down amidst the broken pieces
And I close my eyes, trying to remember

The rusty cage and what it releases,
As dawn breaks on an unknown September.

Sky reflects earth as earth reflects sky,
We stare at eachother and wonder why.
