poem about love, loss and moving on
Traveling On

I didn’t want to go. But I couldn’t stay.
It broke my heart to say goodbye.
You wouldn’t, couldn’t change your ways
I wouldn’t, couldn’t accept that it would always be
I traveled on alone
Broken hearted, crying
Seeking for a life free of anger, deception, broken promises
Each day I wake in my quiet house
Still caring
No longer crying
Days filling with busyness
Laughter, fun, has returned
Still the heart yearns for what once was
Peace is hard earned
