Continuation of "Just a Gumshoe" |
It had been six months Since she had arrived On the island She had finally relaxed enough To stop looking over her shoulder She had changed her name 'Annie' was gone...dead...buried! She was now 'Dawn'... Appropriate for someone starting over But nothing too fancy... Didn't want to call attention To herself She had given up nursing Given up being a loyal sucker too! Nearly winding up six feet under Was the wake up call she needed! Now...she tended bar by night And sailed during the daytime On this lovely blue sky day She was kicking back relaxing on the boat 'Free Spirit' seemed like such a suitable name Blue skies...blue water... Wonderful feeling...free! She often thought about The man who had saved her life She owed him so much And wished that somehow, they could meet So she could finally thank him, in person He had given her just enough time To get a few things together... Make a few financial adjustments To her husband's bank account... And get the hell out of town! ! She figured that one million $$ Would be enough to set her up Call it a bonus for... Pain and suffering... Living with a psychopathic jerk! She dropped anchor in a quiet cove She had just enough time For a little sun and a quick dip Before heading back in to go to work She tossed aside her bikini top And lay down on a towel She couldn't recall ever feeling quite as free As she did here Tan time! Perfectly relaxed... Sun glistening on bronze skin Nipples tingling in gentle breeze She loved sailing... There was something so sensual about it She was totally oblivious To the set of eyes watching her Through a pair of high powered binoculars... To be continued... Dee Daffodil (HW) May 2,2007 |
