Window to the World

squints,
four eyes,
cliche? maybe,
certainly after a year or two,

the window is closing,
sight blurring,
detail disappearing,
faces dulling...

all the while,
masks become visible,
detail more vivid,
faces were never there,

words take on new meaning,
friends are lost,
friends are made,
lessons are learned,

love comes,
love goes,
good company has been disguised as love,
I was fooled,

heart is broken,
pieces are lost,
life is shattered,
life goes on,

my soul falls down,
but gets back up,
my soul forgives,
but doesn't forget,

as earth orbits the sun,
I walk the earth,
as more lessons are learned,
my spirit is healed,

I am glue,
for broken hearts,
I am a shoulder,
for crying eyes

as a window closed,
a door had opened,
I am stronger than ever,
let me in,

turns out,
a closed window won't stop vision,
as eyes go,
vision grows
