a love story
She stood there, outside his penthouse door, hand raised to knock. Could she really do this? Was she ready to see him after two long years? Would he open the door, see her, and then what? Would he be overjoyed to see her, or would he be mad at her for coming back? Jade Matthews couldn't be sure. All she was sure of was that she loved Eric Thomas, and the past two years had been hell on her. What about Eric? Did he think of her everyday, dream about her every night, and curse the day she had to leave him, as she did?
He was not dangerous, but his world and his enemies were very dangerous. Eric was an enforcer in the mob. Jade hadn't left becouse she hadn't loved him, she left because he made her leave. There had been too many threats on her life, and after she had been kidnapped that last time, he felt he couldn't keep her safe. Leaving him had been the hardest thing she had ever done. She loved him heart, body, and soul. Eric had been born to love Jade, and she had been born to love him. He wouldn't let her tell him where she was going. Eric had been afraid that if he knew where she was, he wouldn't have been able to stay away. He thought if they never saw each other again, he would eventually let go of their love. Jade knew he was wrong, that a love like theirs would never fade. It hadn't for her, and she would soon learn that it only had grwon stronger for him.
