Unbound

Days press forward as we drift (you and I)
but time has been broken for us,
and moved us to another place (another time)
where memories are not so painful
unbound by a simple act of grace.

Though sometimes ... I hide
Can’t seem to see, to realize
I really need to ... decide
If all I want, is just some time.

I’ve been tested, lived in denial
and so beaten down I took a fall,
finding out everything I had lost
was never worth all the misery
it took to nail myself to that cross.

Days come around as seasons pass (us by)
skies turn from black to blue,
you always loved the summer sun
as I loved my season with you
and all the times we were as one.

Though sometimes ... I sigh
Can’t seem to see, to visualize
What I’ve undone ... how to decide
If all I need, is just some time.

I’ve been tested, lived in denial
and so beaten down I took a fall,
finding out everything I had lost
was never worth all the misery
it took to nail myself to that cross.
