The red rose

I met a man in the night
And he helped me up off my feet
He walked me all the way home
And called me his goodnight treat
As we waved goodbye and parted
He walked away with my number
He rang me early the next day
And woke me from my slumber
I didn't mind the early wake up call
Because he invited me out
As i said yes and accepted
All i wanted to do was shout
For once in my life i felt
That this man was right for me
And as we met and I looked into his eyes
Maybe something this could be
As we talked and watched a movie
And went shopping in the mall
Then we had finally finished
So he gave the taxis a call
We didn't know how to say goodbye
Whether to hug or kiss
So we stared at each other for ages
Until we gave it a miss
He went off home in his taxi
But he rang me again that night
Then he appeared at my window
And it gave me such a fright
He said he had to tell me something
And I didn't know what to say
I think i love you so much
Eventhough it's only been a day
I opened up the door
And he handed me a rose
Then he bent down on one knee
And got ready to propose
He said he knew it was sudden
And if i said no he'd understand
So i pulled him up and kissed his lips
With the red rose in my hand
I said my answer was yes
And that together we shall stay
And soon we shall be married
On our wedding day
