A poem about reminiscence and growing up
Don’t chase my dreams away,
Or let them fly someday.
Listen to me one more time,
And know that loving me is not a crime.
I may come across as being brave,
Hiding my insecurities under a tough façade.
Many think my life is like a work of art,
But even I have things that break my heart.
Every day when the sun goes down,
I vow to greet tomorrow with a smile, not a frown.
My mom enjoys watching me grow,
And tries to cheer me when I feel low.
I have friends that stick to me like glue,
Supporting whatever I choose to do.
I’m the luckiest person you’ve ever known,
For I’ve discovered happiness, and I’m not even full-grown.
