Staying true to ones self.

LETTING YOURSELF GO

How, when, or why, Do we as beings stop trying to give and be our best?
Is it ok to fall back and un-light our fire
and let go of the better half of our self?
What is left in the business when you make it nothing more
but your will to succeed with success?
Loyalty and our word is one of the world’s first impressions
When this falls through all that is left is aggression
In the depths of the minds of the persons’ feeling the deception
Confused about weather to trust or let live the essence of the lesson
The one that’s learned from letting the worst of us show
The center of the core when we let our best go
Cheating and scaling the top to find that what’s left is nothing but dust
In the face of agony we feel defensive and on edge
Needing to defend the reputation lost in the back of our head
Knowing that we’ve cheated those around us as well as self
What’s to do when all is left?
Because trusting and believing no longer helps
In the quest for the rest of the life we have left
Only you can decide how bumpy the ride
Up the escalator on the brink in time
When far is to fall over the line
Or the question is once crossed on that side what we’ll find
Probably nothing just the distrust you left behind
Burning the bridges of the ones who took the time
To believe and care for you not knowing your kind
Unworthy yet distrusting
Of another’s ones, efforts and time
Masquerading as the big dipper on the low with a dimmer
In the bottom, of a cup, empty, with no sipper
