A love we call " Black Sunshine" |
Black Sunshine It was the truest form of friendship I had ever known The bond shared by you and me I knew my heart could never feel alone. How I wanted to tell you then Your smile filled me with a tortured light This love of mine, The one I call black sunshine. My soul was not complete My hands empty without yours to meet. My love, you could not see The tears I shed of bitter agony Here beneath the smile, This love of mine, the love of black sunshine. I saw the way you looked at her I yearned for you to glance at me the same And from your lips to hear Your sweet voice call my name. In shadows, the black crawls through covering the light in starry hue I weep to see what is mine, The love I call black sunshine Though I knew it could not be so That your love you had given to another Still, with each day passed my love increased A flow that could never cease. What then can I do, To make you see That all this time I have been alive All my love I have given to thee? In silence I slumber For there are things I wish to tell That is you who carries my heart And you who knows it well. Someday the light will be greater Than the black that seeps in me And disappear the moment in which my soul did pine For the love that is black sunshine. Each glance you give her You cannot know Breaks my heart you carry Fills me with immortal woe. Though love should not a burden be These chains, these bars! A tortured prison I have created for me A wired cage of misery. One day I will tell you When skies hover, draped in grey When these eyes of sorrow close in eternal sleeping No longer bound in mortal weeping. These hands that once held this love so fine Will I no longer call My love of black sunshine. |
