The Dress

Light blue silk with tiny white flowers
Flowing beautifully to the floor
A sweetheart neckline framing
Ivory, freckled skin

Dainty white gloves
Caressing her hands
Soft red hair flowing freely
Down her back

Emerald green eyes smiling
Along with rosebud lips
Perfect teeth peeking through
Sharing a feminine laugh

A tuxedo of dark gray
With a white cummerbund
Shiny black shoes
Match his shiny black hair

His face tanned and handsome
Dark eyes fringed with long dark eyelashes
His father's cologne smells like heaven
He is not a boy and yet not quite a man

His smile is wide
As he takes in her beauty
He catches his breath
And thanks God for her
In front of everyone

He takes her hand
And gently kisses her cheek
He whispers
“I love you”

She smiles shyly
Feeling like a princess
In the dress he bought just for her
