A student + teacher love story.
~ Chaper 1 ~ New Teacher

I peeked in the doorway of the History class room and instantly let out a loud whine. I kicked the wall several times before leaning back against it, slowly sinking to the floor. The last day before Spring Break and I had missed 4 classes, too many for me. I let out a louder whine and listened to a new teacher giving a lecture. I let out a sudden rush of air and slowly grabbed the door handle. I could feel the coldness and slowly I pushed the door in.

“You must be Miss Davis, please don’t be late again, I would rather you didn’t show then interrupt my lectures” he said and I closed my eyes. “I’m sorry” I said finally looking up at our new teacher.

He was leaned back against the board with a book in his right hand. He was looking at me intently and with a small glimmer of humor in his steel grey eyes. He had blonde hair and one black streak through the bang part, which surprised me. He was smiling slightly as my eyes glanced over him and suddenly my face turned red. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark black jeans. I closed my eyes and tried so very hard to get my heart under control.

“Miss. Davis do you need an ambulance or a doctor” the new teacher asked and I finally came back. “Hmm” was all I could get out. “Can you find your seat” he wasn’t asking but I nodded my head in response anyway, slowly making my way to my seat. “Way too go Lexa” my best friend Carla said as I passed her chair to sit behind her. “Thanks” I whispered sarcastically.

“Now today is the last day of school before Spring Break, so I must warn you not to forget what you need for Monday” he said glancing around the room. “And not too be late again” he said glancing directly at me. “I want to also remind you that we start Greek Mythology on Monday as well, you have an exam come Friday, so please don’t freak out it‘s easy” He said and then we all started to read from a old history book.

Class went by without any more mention as to why I was late, or anything really about me. Some girls seemed rather mad at me for interrupting our teacher in his discussions. We all seemed fascinated when he walked or moved. His hair would brush against his face softly and his lips would move slowly. A few stray black streaks would cross over his eyes and he would look up at us, it made all our hearts melt. He would laugh softly and we would watch each part of this new hot teacher move.

Too bad it was the last day of class!

~ Chapter 2 ~ Carla

Carla had been my best friend since I went to college and she seemed pleased with Spring Break. She had a boyfriend of her own and he constantly was trying to separate us long enough, so it was a date with her not me. Course her boyfriend was the sweetest and we sometimes allowed us to be split, just not today.

“Can you believe him, always he wants something” Carla said sitting down in the corner booth of the Starbucks, a walk able distance from the college. “What makes you he doesn’t, sounds like you spoil him” I said laughing softly and she slowly took a sip from her coffee. “Alright so I do spoil him but I can’t help it” she said laughing like a little kid which made me smile. “So what did he want this time” I asked brushing my lips against my hot coco but deciding against it. “This time it was for me to go to the movies with him” she said letting out a sigh and I smiled. “You really ought to go” I said and she grinned madly. “Really” she asked all excited, hating to bail on me. “Course” I said and she nodded her head, reaching for her cell phone to get plans back on with her boyfriend.

Suddenly a bell went off and the door to the Starbucks opened. Our new teacher walking in, donned in a black sweater  because of this evening cool weather and black jeans. He instantly ordered what he wanted, without looking over the menu and slowly came to sit several tables over from us. He took a sip from his drink, what looked to be coffee and opened a book. It was torn and covered up, so the title was hidden from me.

“Hey, it’s all go for the plan” Carla said bring me back to our table. “What did he say” I said rather bored but she smiled widely. “That you’re the best” she said and I smiled widely. “He’s such a flattering kid” I said and then Carla became serious leaning toward me. “I also heard from unnamed sources that he might ask me to marry him soon” she said and I nearly lost my ability to breath. “No way” I said and she shook her head furiously. “Yes” she said and I instantly hugged her from across the table. “Congratulations” I said and she smiled widely. “Thanks” she whispers and then she slowly stood.

“I had better go get ready” she said and I nodded my head. “You coming” Carla asked standing near me. “Nope” I said taking a sip of my Hot Coco. “Alright don’t walk home alone in the dark” she said and then slowly bent down to hug me. “I won’t” I said and she slowly left me alone in the Starbucks.

I slowly pulled my book out of my small bag and started reading. My mind wrapping in the words, forgetting everyone and everything. I sipped my Hot Coco at different times, a habit I was use to but I never realized I was doing it. I laughed a bit when the female character fell into the water, that was only several inches deep but freezing cold.

“Is that a good book” I heard the words but it had to repeat 3 times before I realized I was actually at a table. “Oh, yeah it is really good, amusing but not too mushy” I said looking up slowly and was looking at the new hot teacher. “It looked like it, mind if I join you” he asked and I felt my insides begin to melt.  “Sure” I said softly.

~ Chapter 3 ~ Starbucks Meeting

I looked at the man sitting across from me at the table, looking awkwardly at the book I was reading and then at me. He seemed rather befuddled I would be reading something like that and I felt anger boiling inside of me.

“Well it certainty seems quite interesting, though I must say it is rather mushy” he said and I looking at him in complete anger. “Oh, really, don’t mind me saying but your taste in books can’t be all that well, considering you’re a History teacher” I said my anger getting the better of my judgment. “Oh please don’t start with me on that, you wouldn’t know a good book if it whacked you on the bottom” he said and I let out a snort. “Yah, right I could way before you could” I said and he leaned forward, which caused me too meet his movements. “Betcha” he said and I narrowed my eyes. “No” I said in a whisper and we became even closer. “Betcha” he said again this time much more quieter and I smiled in amusement. “No” I said and when I didn’t think we could get any closer, we did.

"Fine” the teacher said sitting back away from me finally. “Fine what” I asked rather confused. “Well, first introductions” he said holding up one finger and pointing it at me. “My name is, Lexa Davis” I said, a smile slipped onto his lips as I pointed to him. “My name is, Zoran Thomas” he said and I smiled slightly. “What do you wish for me to call you then” I asked taking a sip from my drink and he watched me. “Zoran while out of school, in school Mr. Thomas” he said and a few strands of black hair moved across his face.  “Fine” I said while I exhaled.

“Next” he said holding up 2 fingers and smiling widely. “What’s next” I asked rather hesitate. “I take you to a book store and show you real stories” he said and I glared slightly at him. “Hardly doubt it” I said and he closed his eyes a moment. “So” he said glancing at me leaning back in his chair. “So, wouldn’t that be considered a date” I asked not really wanting to know the answer. “Does that bother you” he was returning with a question. “Yep, it does completely” I said standing quickly.

I grabbed my book and walked out, into the fading empty streets with the sun setting behind my back.
