Newly Found Treasure

Heaven opened up and angels smiled down
Upon the newborn child they have found
ever so tender and mild
enough to make even the hardest of hearts smile

The baby's eyes twinkled, just like a star
my thoughts turned to you, wherever you are
I watch the sunrise to a new day,
the light slowly washes all my tears away

Impossible for me to understand
why you were taken from this land
Then I realize that even though I mourn you,
I still must continue
For I have our new found treasure
